FORMULA # 2 - LUTAN F and PRE TAN To each gallon of water add 10oz of salt. Use only enough solution for the skins to move freely. Water should be 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Add to the above salt solution: Example: on 10 lbs. shaved, drained weight of skin Once skins have soaked overnight, raise pH to 5.0 by using baking soda (Sodium Bicarbonate). Add to the same solution: Example: on 10 lbs. shaved, drained weight of skin Let the skins soak for 6 hours, then rinse and drain well. Oil skin with Tanning Oil #1 or Tanning Oil #2. Work the skin periodically until dry. Drum in fur drum when skin is approximately 90% dry. FORMULA # 3 - LUTAN F and LIQUA-TAN To each one gallon of water add 10 oz. of salt. Use only enough solution for the skins to move freely. Water should be 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Add to the above solution: 10% Lutan F After skins have soaked overnight, raise pH to 5.0 by using baking soda (Sodium Bicarbonate). Remove skins, rinse and drain well. Apply a liberal coating of Liqua Tan and lay out skin with flesh side up. When the LIQUA TAN has completely penetrated apply a liberal coat of Liqua Soft. Work the skin periodically until dry. Drum in fur drum when the skin is approximately 90% dry. |
