SAFTEY PICKLE The safe and easy way to pickle your skins! * No vapors or fumes, biodegradable, no burns, no evaporation, no hazardous shipping * Excellent replacement for formic, citric or any other acid * Less expensive than other acids – ½ oz. per gallon of water * Great penetration and swelling for easy shaving Directions: Re-hydrate skins overnight in a re-hydration bath of ¼ lb. of salt, ½ oz. Relax R and 1/8oz. Skin Prep NBU to each gallon of water. Once pliable, pull them from the re-hydration bath. Rinse and drain well, then place them into the Safety Pickle solution consisting of ½ fluid oz. of Safety Pickle and 1 lb. of salt to each gallon of water and stir well. You should stir and turn them 1 to 2 times daily as well as monitoring your pH level. You need to maintain a pH range of 1.8 to 2.2. Once skins have been in pickle 48 to 72 hours you can drain and shave. Skins can be returned to pickle until you’re ready to neutralize and continue with your tanning process. You can neutralize with baking soda either in the pickle or in a separate bath, with ½ lb salt per gallon of water added in the separate bath. Old pickle can be neutralized with baking soda or soda ash and disposed of according to your local authorities. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN Warning: contains mineral acids. Wash after use.
